Animated Short

Problem

AI will hand you a beautiful single frame and then forget who the character was. A film needs the same face in the last shot as in the first, and it needs a story rather than a mood reel.

Solution

The character is designed once as a reference sheet, and every frame is drawn against it. The whole film is boarded in black and white first, so the staging is settled before anything is painted. Then colour, then movement, then the cut.

Result

A thirty-second film with a beginning and an end — one girl, one paper boat — hand-painted 2D rather than the plastic 3D look AI falls into by default.
